About DuVent

Duvent jewellery was founded by Nelly Custodio, mostly known as Venti. Born in Paris (France) and raised in Faro (Portugal), where her family roots are from, she moved to London (U.K.) shortly after high school.  A dream to fulfil always was present since before she can remember!

Growing up, Venti was always fascinated by History and Art. Captivated with subjects from the Bronze Age until the Modernist Period, she was enlightened by the Medieval Period. As a teenager, she volunteered to archaeological excavations during the summer holidays as a hobby. Later she attended to History classes on the Viking Age and then got invited to practice Viking and Middle Ages sword fighting where she gained a deeper knowledge of one of her favourite subjects, ancient arms and armour.  Being a romantic at heart she always wanted to be surrounded by beauty, and felt the need to express it through her art in the form of jewellery where she felt herself complete as an artist and individual.

Venti's jewellery journey started at Central Saint Martins- University of the Arts London, where she attended evening lessons and during this time she also volunteered to help with the production of Lara Boink's collection for London Fashion Week 1998.  Shortly after that project she started a new job working full time as an apprentic jeweller for an internationall prominent jewellers in their Central London shop.  Surrounded by great craftsmanship and inspiring jewellers she started investing in her jewellery designs and soon encouraged to sell her own work in the shop.

In 2016 Venti reinvented her brand and named it Duvent Jewellery. With elegant sober lines, her new designs still maintain all the impact of her past work, that was more "warrior-like" where she used raw materials such as minerals, fossils, bones and the mix of leather with sterling silver.  Currently, her thirst for new techniques and inspiration continues and she loves to create new designs for unique statement jewellery that will outlive us!
